Tilobond UTA 510 – C1TE / Type 2 Tile Adhesive

Tilobond UTA 510 is a polymer modified cement based construction adhesive for installation of ceramic tiles on walls and vitrified tiles on interior and exterior floors. It is also suitable for tile-on-tile applications. The product is supplied as a dry powder and requires only the addition of water before application.

Limitations

Not suitable for vitrified tiles on walls
Not recommended for wooden flooring, insulating panels, soundproofing panels or large format tiles

Application

Clean the substrate thoroughly to remove dust, dirt, oil, laitance and contaminants. Ensure the surface is flat, stable and fully cured. Saturate the surface and remove excess water.

Mix 3 parts Tilobond UTA 510 powder with 1 part clean water. Always add powder into water. Mix manually or with a low-speed stirrer for 5–10 minutes until a lump-free paste is obtained. Allow the mix to stand for 5 minutes and use within 90 minutes.

Apply the adhesive using a notched trowel at 3–6 mm thickness. Spread only the quantity that can be tiled within 30 minutes. Press tiles firmly to ensure complete coverage and eliminate air pockets. Use spacers to maintain joints. Double buttering is recommended for heavy tiles.
