Maxx Aquaflex 2K – High Performance Elastomeric Cementitious Waterproof Coating

Description

Maxx Aquaflex 2K is a two-component, polymer-modified elastomeric cementitious waterproofing system consisting of a specially blended cement-based powder and an acrylic polymer liquid. It provides excellent waterproofing, strong adhesion, crack-bridging capability, and corrosion protection for concrete and masonry surfaces. Suitable for both internal and external waterproofing applications.

Method of Application

Surface Preparation

Clean the surface thoroughly and remove loose particles, laitance, dust, and contaminants.
Pre-wet the substrate to a Saturated Surface Dry (SSD) condition before application.

Mixing

Mix the complete pre-measured powder and liquid components until a smooth, lump-free slurry is obtained.
Always add powder to liquid.
Do not mix partial quantities.

Application

Apply the first coat using a brush.
Allow 4–5 hours before applying the second coat.
Leave the coating to air cure for 2 days.
Protect the coating with a moist hessian cloth instead of water curing.
For bathrooms, apply over the entire sunken slab and up walls to 6–7 feet above the splash zone.
For water tanks, sprinkle coarse sand over the second wet coat to improve plaster bonding.

Precautions

Use mixed material within 60 minutes.
Do not dilute or add extra water.
Do not add any foreign materials.
Do not flood cure the membrane.
Carry out the pond test only after 7 days of complete curing.

Coverage

Shelf Life

12 months from the date of manufacture when stored in a cool, dry place away from moisture and direct sunlight.

Health & Safety

Wear protective clothing, gloves, and safety goggles during application.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
For skin contact, wash immediately with clean water. If dried, use diesel or mineral turpentine to remove the material.
In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical attention.
