Bond SBR 208 is a milky-white, Styrene Butadiene rubber emulsion, produced from styrene and butadiene. It is specially designed for use as a bonding agent in liquid consistency. It is used for repair of spalled concrete – floors, coloumns, beams, chhajas, slabs. Waterproofing of toilet & bathrooms, small terraces etc. It bonds strongly to old & new concrete and to plaster. It reduces shrinkage, prevents cracking & improves abrasion resistance.

Description

Bond SBR 208 is a milky-white Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR) emulsion specially designed as a bonding agent and mortar modifier for waterproofing, repair, and rehabilitation works. It provides excellent adhesion between old and new concrete, reduces shrinkage, improves flexibility, enhances abrasion resistance, and minimizes water penetration. Suitable for concrete repairs, waterproofing, and cement-based repair mortars.

Application Methodology

Surface Preparation

Remove loose concrete, grease, curing compounds, dust, and contaminants using a wire brush or scrubber.
Cut damaged concrete to a minimum depth of 10 mm to provide a sound repair surface.
Roughen smooth concrete by light scabbling or grit blasting if required.
Saturate the surface with clean potable water and remove excess water before application.

Priming

Prepare the primer by mixing:

1 Part Bond SBR 208
1 Part Water
3 Parts OPC Cement

Mix thoroughly to obtain a smooth, lump-free slurry and apply immediately to the prepared surface.

Repair Mortar / Screed

Recommended dosage:

10 kg Bond SBR 208 per 50 kg cement
