Interior & Exterior Surface Primer

Product Description

Maxx White Prime is an emulsion-based, water-thinnable primer specially designed for application on both exterior and interior masonry surfaces.

It can also be applied on a wide range of cement plaster, concrete, ceilings, asbestos sheets and similar building surfaces. The primer provides excellent adhesion, improves paint coverage and creates a smooth base for the application of top coats.

Direction for Use

Surface Preparation

Sand the surface using 180 grit emery paper to remove loose particles, dust, cracked and flaking paint.
Ensure the surface is free from loose paint, dust, grease and other contaminants.
Remove fungus, algae or moss by wire brushing and washing with water.
For concrete and plaster surfaces, wash with high-pressure water, allow to dry and apply one thin coat of Maxx White Prime.
Fill cracks with a suitable crack filler before application.

Application

First Coat of Primer

Apply one coat of Maxx White Prime by thinning with water in the ratio of 1:1 (by volume).
Allow the primer to dry for 6–8 hours.

Putty Application

Smooth the surface by filling dents with a thin coat of Xtra White Wall Putty.
Allow it to dry for 4–6 hours.
Sand the surface using 180 grit emery paper and wipe clean.

Second Coat of Primer

Apply another coat of Maxx White Prime.
Allow drying for 5–8 hours.
Before applying the top coat, sand the surface using 320 grit emery paper and wipe clean.

Precautions

Do not apply when the ambient temperature is below 10°C or if the temperature is expected to fall below this level within 4 hours of application.
Do not over-thin the primer.
Do not over-extend the brush during application.
