MASTER STA 525 All Rounder Polymer Modified Tile Adhesive (C2TE / T3T)

Description

MASTER STA 525 is a highly polymer modified tile adhesive specially formulated for the installation of large format vitrified tiles, porcelain, glass mosaic, marble, granite and natural stone with low water absorption rate for both vertical and horizontal application on internal as well as external surfaces.

Features and Benefits

Ready to use, only water required for mixing.
Suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
High-strength polymer modified adhesive.
Long open time.
Suitable for bed thickness of 3–12 mm (up to 15 mm in limited applications).
No curing or hacking required on substrates.
Complies with EN/ISO C2TE standards.
Exceeds IS 15477:2019 Type 3T Adhesive standards.

Recommended Substrates

Concrete surface.
Cement plaster or screed.
Ceramic, vitrified, porcelain, natural stone and granite.
Brick masonry.
Underwater applications such as swimming pools and fountains.
External top terrace.

Limitations

Do not use on wet screed or plaster. Surface must be fully cured.
Can only be used on cementitious waterproofing. Do not use on epoxy or polyurethane waterproofing.
Do not use for installing glass tiles or metal tiles.
Do not use on metal, rubber, plastics, vinyl, linoleum or painted substrates.

Application Methodology

Surface Preparation

Surface should be sound, level and free from oil, grease and dirt.
Wet the surface before application.

Mixing

Add 3 parts MASTER STA 525 powder to 1 part water.
Always add powder into water.
Mix manually or with a low-speed stirrer for 5–10 minutes until lump-free.
Allow the paste to stand for 5 minutes before use.
Use within 90 minutes.
Do not extend pot life by adding more water.
Do not add cement, sand or any other material.

Application

Spread adhesive with a notched trowel.
Apply only the quantity that can be tiled within 30 minutes.
Back butter large format tiles (>12" × 12") for full bedding.
Ensure complete coverage of the tile back without air voids.
Replace adhesive if it has skinned over.
Maintain joints using spacers.
