Uni Plast IWL is a dark brown liquid based on lignosulphonates which mixes readily with water and therefore disperses evenly. Uni Plast IWL waterproofs by improving the quality of the concrete or mortar. It reduces the water demand for required workability and minimises segregation and bleeding. The surfactants in Uni Plast IWL react in the cement, sand mixture to produce insoluble hydrophobic precipitates. These have a two-fold effect in reducing the permeability of the mix as they both repel moisture, due to their hydrophobic nature, and act as pore blocking agents to reduce the inter-connectivity of porosity in the mix.

UNI PLAST IWL is an integral waterproofing liquid admixture designed to produce waterproof concrete, mortar, screeds, and renders. It improves workability, reduces permeability, minimizes segregation and bleeding, and enhances the waterproofing performance of cement-based mixes for critical applications.

Application Instructions

Plaster

Ideal for cement-sand mortars where low permeability is required.

Concrete

Recommended for basements, water tanks, balconies, roof slabs, floors, and similar applications.
Measure the required quantity of UNI PLAST IWL and add it with the mixing water.
Mix thoroughly before adding to concrete or mortar.
Continue mixing and adjust water only to achieve the required workability.
Maintain the same water content for all subsequent batches.

Dosage

Recommended dosage: 125–200 ml per 50 kg bag of cement
Site trials are recommended to determine the optimum dosage.

Storage & Shelf Life

Shelf life: 12 months from the date of manufacture.
Store in original unopened containers between 5°C and 45°C, protected from moisture, excessive heat, and freezing.

Wear gloves, safety glasses, and a dust mask during handling.
Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
Wash exposed skin with clean water.
In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice if required.

Note

Mixes containing UNI PLAST IWL require significantly less water than conventional mixes. Water reduction may be up to 15% or more while maintaining the same workability. Adjust the water content if the moisture level of sand or aggregates changes.
